Q. Who is “OC Ted”?

A.  OC Ted is www.octed.org, the official web site for the Orange County Tobacco Education Coalition (OCTEC).

Q. Who is “OC TEC”?

A. “OC TEC” is the tobacco use prevention coalition for Orange County, California.  “OCTEC stands for the “Orange County Tobacco Education Coalition”

Q.  Does Orange County Tobacco Education Coalition welcome people to join that do not represent any organizations?

A.  Yes.  Individuals living in anyone of the 34 Cities here in Orange County are welcomed.  In deed,we need people who recognize the #1 preventable cause of death and grief today (Tobacco Use) to step forward and encourage their civic leaders and fellow citizens to adopt healthier habits and protect the general public from the dangers posed by secondhand smoke.

Q. Do I have to attend the General meeting to be a member in good standing?

A. No.  Often many people can not get away from work to attend our meetings.  But they can stay informed with our new web site as well as participate in the many events and educational opportunities the OCTEC provides.

Q. When does OCTEC meet?

A. On the Second Tuesday of every other month at 10 a.m..  Our meeting for 2009 will be on January 13, March 10, May 12, July 14, September 8 and November 10.

Q. Where does OCTEC meet?

A.  We meet at the American Heart Association located at 4600 Campus Drive, Irvine, CA   (Corner of Campus Drive and California Avenue)

Q. How long do we meet?

A.  2 hours, between 10 a.m. and 12 noon.
